Registering / Accounts
Please join us with a username [anything within reason]!
We ask that you separate accounts for each character.
You can have a main OOC account to do your plotter, tracker, and claim posts.
When joining an account for a character, do not change your profile until your character has been accepted.
Relations
We ask that you respect other members and staff.
Drama on-site, between members, is not permitted, especially not in the shoutbox.
If problems arise, resolve your problems. If need be, get Enyo or other staff involved.
Do not openly talk about problems in threads.
Activity
Obviously real life comes first. So, if you have to take time away or simply lack muse, we get it!
If you think that you'll be gone for a week or more, just post in the Vacation board.
Advertising
There is no advertising allowed outside of the advertising board.
Any ads posted outside of the proper board will be deleted.
Creating a Character
To create a character, you go to the Archives and enter the password, which is found further down on this page.
Take a look at the template next to see what stats are needed for joining.
Begin an application in In Progress. A mod or myself will then look over your app, suggest any changes/corrections or approve it.
Once accepted, your app will be moved to the Accepted board.
YOU CANNOT POST WITH YOUR CHARACTER UNTIL IT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED.
- Any modern-day canine is accepted. No extinct breeds or species.
- No younger characters are to be joined alongside, nor can your character be pregnant.
- There is no minimum joining age. Please remember: the younger your canine is, the more vulnerable it is.
- NOTE: I recommend joining a canine at two years-old. It's young, but at least they are weaned, able to survive on their own.]
- Hybrids ARE allowed. Werewolves are not.
- Keep the color of your character realistic and somewhat typical of the breed or species. [ No tribal or glowing markings, horns, wings, etc.]
These are normal canines. - There is no current limit on characters, but please keep them active.
Gameplay
Minimum foul language is allowed, but, please, don't let every other word be profane. This is a PG-13 site after all.
You cannot start posting your character until it has been accepted by staff.
Do not post any personal information. First names are cool, but no last names or addresses.
Please do not discuss politics, religion or any other sensitive topics. Just so we can avoid any issues there.
One real time month is one season in Dark Hollow. Meaning one month is three months on-site.
Season rollovers are on the first of every month.
Only male characters may claim lands. Male cannot claim females until claiming a land.

Breeding
Spring and Fall are the current breeding seasons.
Breeding consists of either parent posting their stats in the Thicket and the moderator posting the stats of the pup(s).
Force breeding is allowed, but only if: 1. the characters are both adults, and 2. the players of the characters plotted or consented to the breeding before it takes place.
- Characters have to be at least two years in order to breed. This is so that the parents are fully developed and that the resulting baby will be healthy. This is still young even in the wild.
- No graphic breedings, meaning don't post the details of the breeding. Just stats.
- When a second generation character (one who was born on the site) breeds, they need to have a link to their baby stats in their information.
- Females can post the birth of their pup(s) wherever they wish, but pups must have had a birth posted before being role-played.
- Couples must wait three seasons after conceiving before having another child.
Fighting
Fights can take place anywhere as this is more realistic.
A battle thread should be titled as such " (Male 1) vs. (Male 2) " or "Battle", "Fight". Something to let mods know what's going on.
Details and carrying over the effects of wounds go along toward winning a fight.
Be descriptive, creative, and imaginative. No one likes the same attacks and defenses over and over again.
- Fights will be made up of two attacks and two offenses for either party.
- Fights will be judged by a moderator to determine a winner.
- God-modding your characters is not allowed, which makes them seem invincible.
- Neither is power-playing other people's characters. This means deciding what the other character is doing or how they react.
- You will lose the battle by default should god-modding or power-playing happen after receiving a warning.
- You must tag your opponent or message them to give them notice about the battle.
- You must reply to the challenge/battle in role-play form within three days of it being posted. Otherwise, you lose by default.
- You may have an extended window to reply if you have listed a vacation notice prior to the challenge. The extended window may range from 4 days to a week total, including the original 3-day window.

Male 1 Defense[/font]Males must be two years-old in order to claim a female.
Claiming is done by posting in the Declaration board. This can be something like: "I, [ name ], claim [ female's name ] as of (date)."
Your post in the Declaration board can also serve as a roster for your pack.
Only males may form packs.
To form a pack, you must first claim a territory. This must be done in character. For example:
- - - - > Fido walked into Downtown and let loose a howl. "This place is mine!" | Or something like that.
Then, go about your business claiming females. Meet them in the Grove or the Port.
Your land must be active. Lands not posted in for 30 days will be put back up for claim.
